1. Check for Low Gas Temperature
A. Check for the proper operation of gas pretreatment equipment.
   
Gas Temperature
   
Result: Pretreatment equipment is functioning properly.
Proceed to Test Step 2.
Result: Pretreatment equipment is not functioning properly.
Repair: Repair or replace the faulty equipment.
Verify that the repair eliminated the problem.
   
2. Faulty Gas Temperature Sensor Signal
A. Measure the temperature of the gas that is entering the fuel metering valve.
B. Compare the measurement to the reading for the temperature on the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).

Result: The gas temperature entering the fuel metering valve is different from the "Fuel Temperature" reading in Cat ET.
Repair: Repair or replace the gas temperature sensor.
Refer to Troubleshooting, "Sensor Signal (Analog, Passive) - Test".
