Install backup ring (21), O-ring seal (22), backup ring (19), and O-ring seal (20) in piston (18).

Install piston (18) in housing (6). Note: Make sure that holes (6A) are centered in the slots in the piston (18).

Install retainer (17) in housing (7).

Install plates (15), shaft (14), and pins (13).

Install plates (12) and discs (11). Note: The plates and the discs are alternated during the installation.

Install ring (10).

Install plates (9) and gasket (8) in housing (7). Note: Caterpillar recommends installing new gaskets during any installation procedure.

Use a suitable press to install housing (6) on housing (7). Note: Make sure that the hydraulic ports in housing (6) and the drain holes in housing (7) have the same orientation that was noted during the disassembly procedure.

Install bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 115 7 N m (85 5 lb ft). Note: Step 11 refers to the assembly of the right side parking brake.

Install elbow (4) in parking brake (3). Note: Step 12 refers to the assembly of the left side parking brake.
