Cat® MineStar System Issues
Troubleshoot the machine if reported issues involve one of the following scenarios:
The monitor display appears frozen
The truck state is not updating
The state in the Office and Onboard are not matching
The truck is not moving in Site MonitorTo troubleshoot a reported Cat® MineStar system issue, refer to the following procedure:
Report all incidents in an expedient manner.
Upon dispatch contacting the controller, perform the appropriate troubleshooting action. Communication Issues
For communication issues, perform the following procedure:
Ensure that the machine is on and that the machine is in an area of known network coverage.
Identify the machine and the IP addresses of the following components:
Monitor display
VIMS module
Switch
Radio/access point
Ping the radio/access point:
a. If the radio/access point returns a near continuous ping, continue to Step 4.
If the radio/access point does not return a near continuous ping, work with the site network support to address the issue.
If the issue is resolved by cycling the main disconnect and not key cycling the machine, the issue was most likely related to a customer provided component.
Ping the switch:
If the switch returns a near continuous ping, continue to Step 5.
If the switch does not return a near continuous ping, work with the site network support to address the issue.
If the issue is resolved by cycling the main disconnect and not key cycling the machine, the issue was most likely related to a customer provided component.
Ping the xIM or VIMS 3G:
If the xIM module returns a near continuous ping, continue to Step 6.
If VIMS does not return a near continuous ping, document the truck, time, and date.
Cycle the machine key switch to the OFF position for 10 seconds and ensure that the machine shuts down. If the machine has delay shut down, additional time will be required.
Cycle the key back to the ON position after 30 seconds.
After the machine has been on for 60 seconds, attempt to ping the xIM module.
If the ping returns, the xIM module may have crashed. If the ping does not return, check the Ethernet communications wiring and connections between the xIM module and
