If desired, reinforcements can be added to the former 4N960 Manifold Assembly to make it stronger. Use the procedure that follows to fabricate and install the reinforcements: 1. If necessary, make repairs to any cracked welds between the manifold and flange near the Number 6 exhaust port. The size of the original weld is a 3 mm (.12") fillet weld.2. Use low carbon steel to fabricate a stiffener rod and bar to the dimensions shown in Illustrations 1 and 2 respectively.3. Weld the rod and bar in position on the exhaust manifold as shown in Illustration 3.
