CONTROL GP-TRANSMISSION 8C5330 - Caterpillar

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses and all tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Cut strap (1) and disconnect electrical connector (2) .

Remove screw (3) from the middle of the wiring harness.
Disconnect electrical connectors (4), (5), and (6).
Disconnect wiring harness (7) .

Remove nut (8) .
Disconnect wire (9) .

Remove nut (10) .
Disconnect wire (11) .

Loosen hose clamps (12) and (13) .
Disconnect heater hoses (14) and (15) .

Remove bolts (16) and (17) .

Remove bolt (18) .
Move heater hoses (19) and (20) aside.

Use a suitable lifting device to support the cab.

Remove right cotter pin (23) .
Remove right pin (21) .
Move right cab support (22) to the side.

Remove left cotter pin (26) .
Remove left pin (24) .
Move left cab support (25) to the side.

Lower the cab. Remove two nuts (27) and two bolts (28) on the rear of the cab.

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to remove cab assembly (29). Weight of the cab assembly is 220 kg (485 lb).
