Information:
Remove Tachometer Drive
1. Remove bolts (2) and clamps (3) that hold the adapter in place. Remove adapter (1). Remove the O-ring seal from the adapter. 2. Remove adapter (4) from the fuel injection pump and governor drive housing. 3. Remove lip type seal (5) from adapter (4) if a replacement is needed. 4. Remove shaft assembly (6). 5. Remove race (7), bearing (8) and the race from the fuel injection pump and governor drive housing.Install Tachometer Drive
1. Install race (3), bearing (2) and race (1) in the fuel injection pump and governor drive housing. 2. Install shaft assembly (4). 3. Use tooling (A) and install the lip type seal in adapter (5) with the lip of the seal down as shown. 4. Make sure the gasket between adapter (5) and the fuel injection pump and governor drive housing is in place. Install adapter (5). 5. Install O-ring seal (6). Put lubricant that is to be sealed on the O-ring seal and the bore of adapter (5). Install adapter (7). Install the two bolts and clamps that hold the adapter in place. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 2 lb.ft. (14 3 N m).
