Personal injury or death can result if the levelling blade is not blocked up. Block the levelling blade before changing the cutting edge.
Illustration 1 g00646073There are two cutting edges on the front of the blade (1). There are two skid plates on the bottom of the blade (2).Replace the cutting edge if the cutting edge is damaged. Replace the cutting edge if the cutting edge is excessively worn.
Raise the leveling blade. Block the leveling blade securely. Place the blocks under the arms (3) of the blade.
Remove the bolts. Remove the cutting edge.
Clean the contact surfaces.
If the opposite edge of the cutting edge is not worn, use the opposite edge. If the opposite edge is worn, replace the cutting edge.
Install the bolts. Tighten the bolts to the torques that are specified in the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torques for Ground Engaging Tool Bolts".
Inspect the skid plates. Replace the skid plates if the skid plates are damaged or worn.
Raise the leveling blade. Remove the blocks.
Lower the leveling blade to the ground.
Check the bolts for proper torque after a few hours of operation.
