G610 Display Module
The operating system is loaded onto the display module before the display is shipped to the customer.To ensure that the software runs in a predictable manner, the G610 display module must have Microsoft Windows OS Version 1.04 or greater.If the operating system is an earlier version, the following security error appears:"The OS version is too old to run this version of the software."Additionally, the software opens the "Basic Diagnostic" window but does not open any other windows. The monitor display must have the NTe version 1.1 operating system. This system allows the display to communicate through the Ethernet IP port and the CAN port. To check the version of the operating system, open the c:\revisions.txt file. The first line should report the version number. If the operating system needs upgrading, contact a Caterpillar Technical Communicator.Version Number in Properties
The version number for Terrain software, as displayed in the Details tab of the executable's properties, has the form:<major_version_number>.<minor_version_number>.<build_number>.<source_ID> (<comments>)The source ID is a string that identifies the exact revision of the source code used to create the software, and is created by the build system.Prior to Terrain V6.x the build system created a source ID that was a sequential decimal number equivalent to the source code revision number, for example "70114". In this case the most recent source code had the highest source ID, and you could compare the source IDs of two software versions to determine which one was created from most recent source codeFrom Terrain V6.x onward the build system creates a source ID that is a non-sequential hexadecimal number, for example "531fbf0". In this case the source ID is not related to the source code revision order, and you cannot compare the source IDs of two software versions to determine which one was created from most recent source code
