CONVERSION G 3N3324 - Caterpillar

1. Remove bolt (1) and disconnect electrical connector (2).2. Follow wire from speed/timing sensor (5) and disconnect the electrical connector. Speed/timing sensors (3) and (5) can be removed with the front housing cover.3. Remove two bolts (6) and washers.4. Remove plate (8). Check the O-ring seal behind plate (8) for damage or wear and replace if necessary.5. Remove five bolts (7) and washers.6. Remove plate (9). Check the O-ring seal behind plate (9) for damage or wear and replace if necessary.7. Check seal (11) for damage or wear and replace if necessary.8. Remove bolts (10) and the washers that hold front housing cover (4) in position. Remove the front housing cover. Remove the gasket from the front housing cover. The following steps are for the installation of the front housing cover9. Clean the mating surfaces of the front housing cover. Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket on the mating surface of each component.
To prevent damage to the drive gear bearings, use care when installing the front housing cover.
10. Position front housing cover (4) and a new gasket on the front of the engine. Install bolts (10) and the washers that hold it in place.11. Lubricate seal (11) lightly with clean engine oil. Install plate (9) together with seal (11) and the O-ring seal in their original location. Secure with five bolts (7) and washers.12. Install plate (8) and the O-ring seal. Secure with two bolts (6) and washers.13. Connect the electrical connectors for speed/timing sensors (3) and (5).14.
