3306B, 3406B Truck EnginesA new Truck Performance Diagnostic Guide, SEBD0808, is available to help evaluate truck performance complaints. This guide replaces a preliminary version which was issued as part of a series of Truck Performance Seminars presented to dealers in 1986. The new guide has additional information on truck performance evaluation, updated engine test procedures, a complete explanation of horsepower correction factors and correction factor charts for both heavy and medium duty engines.
Although the test procedures in this guide are specifically for 3306B and 3406B Truck Engines, they can be adapted to all Caterpillar Truck Engines. The rest of the information is applicable to all Caterpillar Truck Engines, especially Section I, "Understanding Truck Performance Complaints".
