Install scraper (29), bushing (30), and seal (31) in the pillar base. Note: Install bushing (30) so that the slots are offset by 30° to the grease zerks.
Before two bars (17) are installed, install bearing (28) on the inside of the pillar base. Install bolt (26) which holds bearing (28) in place. Install bearing (28) and bolt (26) on the other side of the pillar base.
Install bearing (27).

Install seals (18), (19), and (24). Install piston (23).
Install ring (20) and retainer (21).
Install four seals (22) and four bolts (25) on bar (17). Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to bolts (25). The torque for bolts (25) is 50 N m (37 lb ft).
Use two persons to install bar (17). The weight of bar (17) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).

Install O-ring seal (16) on tube (12).

Install tube (12).
Install the bushings and eight bolts (14). The torque for bolts (14) is 110 N m (81 lb ft).
Connect oil tube (15).
Install clamp (13) which holds oil tube (15) in place.
Repeat Steps 4 through 12 for the other tube assemblies, as required.

Install service platform (11). Install two bolts (10) and the washers which hold service platform (11) in place.
Repeat Step 14 for service platform (11) on the other side of the pillar, as required.

Use a hoist and suitable lifting slings to place the pillar base on Tooling (B).
Install pin (1) in the top of the pillar. Use Tooling (A), a threaded rod, and two nuts in order to attach a hoist and lifting slings to the pillar. Attach lifting chains to the lower portion of the pillar in order to keep the pillar completely vertical.
Connect the pillar to the pillar base.

Install ring (6). Use Tooling (C) to install retainer (8).
Install plug (9).
Install seal (7).

Install cover plate (5) and eight bolts (4). Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to bolts (4). The torque for bolts (4) is 49 N m (36 lb ft).

Install two O-ring seals (2) on the pillar base.
Install two bushings (3) on the pillar base. End By:
Install the log loader pillar. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Log Loader Pillar - Install".
