8-3 Measuring Procedures
(1) Warm up the engine in based on OPERATION MANUAL. * After warming up the engine, confirm that the pointer of water temperature gauge has reached the green zone.(2) Set the hydraulic oil temperature to 50 5°C (122 9°F) in based on OPERATION MANUAL. (3) Prevent the upper structure from moving with the swing lock pin. * During the cylinder operation speed test, if the upper structure moves, the measurements will be erroneous, so always stop the upper-structure from moving with the swing lock pin.* I: indicates the swing lock pin. (4) Boom cylinder measuring procedures 1. Retract both the bucket and arm cylinders fully to their retraction end. 2. Extension test: Measure the operating time required to fully extend the boom cylinder from where the bucket is in contact with the ground.3. Retraction test: Measure the operating time required to move the boom cylinder from its extended end until it comes in contact with the ground. * The right control lever must be operated fully to its maximum limit in one stroke.* Give attention to the location shown by an arrow described left. * Measure as shown in the diagram on the left. (5) Arm cylinder measuring procedures 1. Set boom to its maximum limit horizontally and extend bucket cylinder fully.2. Extension test: Measure the operating time required to fully extend the arm cylinder from its retraction end.3. Retraction test: Measure the operating time required to fully retract the arm cylinder from its fully extended end. * The left control lever must be operated fully to its maximum limit in one stroke.* Give attention to the location shown by an arrow described on the left. * Measure as shown in the diagram on the left. (6) Bucket cylinder measuring procedures 1. Set boom horizontally and arm vertically.2. Extension test: Measure the operating time required to fully extend the bucket cylinder from its retraction end.3. Retraction test: Measure the operating time required to fully extend the bucket cylinder from its retraction end. * The right control lever must be operated fully to its maximum limit in one stroke.* Give attention to the locations shown by arrow lines. * Measure as shown in the diagram on the left.8-4 Performance Standards
(1) Operating speed 9. Adjustment Of Hydraulic Cylinder Operation Speed
9-1 Tools
(1) Hand tools (2) Measuring tools (3) Supplies * For pressure gauge connection procedure, refer to hydraulic pressure adjustment and pressure check.9-2 Measuring Conditions
(1) Perform inspection and servicing of hydraulic excavator based on Operation Manual.(2) Place and measure the hydraulic excavator on a leveled ground.(3) Setting value for hydraulic oil temperature must be within the specified value of 50 5°C (122 9°F).(4) Engine speed (r.p.m.): Rated speed (r.p.m.) * The rated speed (r.p.m.) referred to in this test means that engine speed (r.p.m.) has been set to the performance standard values of the engine rotation speed test.(5) Setting valve for main relief value pressure must be at the specified value.(6) Bucket load: Empty
