Use Tooling (A) to remove filter (5). Disconnect harness assembly (4) and hose assemblies (6). Remove bolts (2) and fuel filter base (3).

Remove fitting (7) and the O-ring seals from primary filter base (3). Remove plug (8) and the O-ring seal. Remove fitting (9) and the O-ring seal. Remove stud (10).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Note: Be careful when removing cap (12) because of wires that are connected inside of cap (12)
Remove bolts (11) and cap (12).
Remove plug (13), O-ring seal (14), spring (15), valve (16), and O-ring seal (17). Repeat this step for the remaining plug (18).

Remove locknuts (19) in order to disconnect the wires from fuel priming pump (20). Remove O-ring seal (21) from cap (12).

Remove fuel priming pump (20). Remove fuel system seal (22), backup ring (23), fuel system seal (24), and backup ring (25) from fuel priming pump (20).

Remove plugs (26) and the O-ring seals. Installation Procedure
Install primary filter base (3) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten locknuts (19) to a torque of 1.7 0.4 N m (15.05 3.54 lb in)
Tighten plugs (13) to a torque of 95 10 N m (70 7 lb ft).
Tighten plug (8) to a torque of 11 2 N m (97 18 lb in).

Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of primary filter base (3) where stud (10) is attached at a length of Dimension (X). Dimension (X) is 11 0.5 mm (0.43 0.02 inch).
Tighten stud (10) to a torque of 70 15 N m (52 11 lb ft).
Install primary filter (5) until primary filter contacts primary filter base (3). Use Tooling (A) in order to turn primary filter (5) an additional 3/4 turn.I
