Apply a liberal amount of 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads of the hub pin and to the threads of the cut-side hub nut. Install the cut-side nut (L) .

Tighten the cut-side nut (L) until clearance between the movable jaw cutting edges and fixed jaw cutting edges is 0.5 mm (0.02 inch). Then turn the cut-side nut clockwise until the next threaded hole of the housing lines up with a locking bolt hole in the cut-side nut.Note: Do not turn the cut-side nut counterclockwise in order to align locking bolt holes. Turning the cut-side nut counterclockwise will introduce looseness into the hub pivot assembly and produce an inaccurate shim measurement in the following steps.

Install the lock washers and install and tighten lock bolts (F) in the threaded holes of the shear through the locking bolt holes of the nut as shown above. Tighten the locking bolts to 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft).
Remove the drop-side nut (J). Remove the adjuster ring (K) .

Use a caliper to measure the depth for the shims that are required. Install the required number of shims (H). Shims (H) should be even with or above surface (M). A thin film of grease may be required in order to keep the shims in position during the following steps. Thick shims should go on the outside of the hub.Note: The shims may be a maximum of 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) above surface (M). The shims must not be below the surface. Failure to adjust to these measurements will introduce looseness into the hub and a reduced service life of wear components.

Apply a liberal amount of 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the threads of the hub pin and to the threads of the drop-side hub nut (J). Install the drop-side nut (J). Tighten the drop-side nut (J) to 800 N m (590 lb ft). If the specified torque is reached before a hole in the nut aligns with a threaded hole in the shear housing, continue turning the nut clockwise until a set of holes line up with a set of threaded holes in the shear housing.
Install the lock washers and install and tighten locking bolts to 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft).

Close the moveable jaw so that the piercing tip is positioned as shown in illustration 20.

Loosen the guide blade bolts (D). Do not remove the bolts. Allow a minimum of three threads to remain engaged in the blades.
Position the guide blade (C) flush against the piercing tip.Note: Tap the heads of the bolts with a soft mallet to position the blades.
Do not position the blade by striking the bolts with a steel hammer. Striking the blade with a steel hammer may result in damage to the blade and the jaw.

Insert the proper quantity of shims. Measure the gap (P) between the blade pocket and the guide blade to determine the proper shim thickness.
Seat the blades in the pocket. Tighten
