COOLER GP-FUEL 2099114 - Caterpillar

11,000 9N8002 Connecting Rods for remanufactured 1160 Truck Engines have been changed into 9N407 Connecting Rods so they can be used in remanufactured 3208 Engines. These 11,000 connecting rods have a bearing tab slot for 3208 Engine rod bearings and a bearing tab slot on the opposite side for 1160 Truck Engine rod bearings. However, only the rod bearing for the remanufactured 3208 Engine can be used with these rods because the bearing tab slot for the 1160 Truck Engines was not correctly machined. For this reason these rods must not be used in 1160 Truck Engines and/or with rod bearings for 1160 Truck Engines. Identification of the 11,000 rods can be made visually. They will have the extra bearing tab slot and the part number 9N407 on top of the rod. The 9N8002 Forging identification number will still be on the side of the rod shank.
