Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the crankcase guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankcase Guard - Remove and Install".Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and plug all tube assemblies. This helps prevent fluid loss, and this helps keep contaminants from entering the system.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove three wire assemblies (1) from electric starting motor (3). Remove cable (2) from electric starting motor (3) .

Remove three wire assemblies (4) from solenoid (6). Remove cable (5) from solenoid (6) .

Attach a nylon lifting strap to electric starting motor (3). Remove four bolts (8) and remove bracket (7) .
Remove three bolts (9) and remove electric starting motor (3). The weight of starting motor (3) is 37 kg (82 lb).Installation Procedure

Position electric starting motor (3). Install three bolts (9). The weight of starting motor (3) is 37 kg (82 lb).
Position bracket (7) and install four bolts (8) .

Connect cable (5) to solenoid (6). Connect three wire assemblies (4) to solenoid (6). Refer to Specifications, "Electric Starting Motor".

Connect cable (2) to electric starting motor (3). Connect three wire assemblies (1) to electric starting motor (3). Refer to Specifications, "Electric Starting Motor".
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.End By: Install the crankcase guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankcase Guard - Remove and Install".
