Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Note: Put identification marks on the hose assemblies for installation purposes. Plug the hose assemblies. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Open the access door on the left side of the machine.

Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2) from hydraulic oil cooler (3) .

Release latch (5). Remove bolts (4) .
Remove hydraulic oil cooler (3) .Installation Procedure

Install hydraulic oil cooler (3).
Install bolts (4). Secure hydraulic oil cooler (3) in place with latch (5) .

Note: Check the condition of the O-ring seals. If the O-ring seals are worn or damaged, use new O-ring seals for replacement.
Connect hose assemblies (1) and (2) .

Close the access door on the left side of the machine.
Fill the hydraulic tank to the proper level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct procedure.End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
