To prevent personal injury, be sure all personnel are clear of the machine. Sound the horn for several seconds before starting the engine.
Never move the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position while the engine is operating. Serious damage to the electrical system could result.

Turn the battery disconnect switch (1) to the ON position.

Use the operator station select switch (3) to select the operator station that will be used.
Apply parking brake (2) .

Turn the engine start switch (5) clockwise to the ON position in order to supply power to the engine and the machine.
Leave the engine start switch in the ON position for a few seconds in order to allow the ECM to communicate with the components of the machine.
Wait for the operator checklist to appear on the display screen, and wait for the audible alarm to stop.
Briefly sound the horn before you start the engine.
Turn the engine start switch (5) to the START position. Release the engine start switch (5) when the engine starts. If the engine does not start after 30 seconds, release the switch. Allow the starter to cool for 2 minutes before cranking again.
Push the engine speed control switch (4) upward in order to increase the engine speed.Note: Use the engine start switch (5) that is located on the left operator console in order to turn off the engine.
