Information:
start by: a) remove final drive gears, idler pinions and bearings 1. Remove ring (2) and the pin from nut (1).2. Loosen nut (1) with tool (A) until there is a clearance of .125 in. (3.2 mm) between the nut and the steering clutch case.
Do not remove the nut from the sprocket shaft until the sprocket shaft is loosened.
3. Put tooling (B) on the sprocket shaft. Loosen the sprocket shaft.4. Remove tooling (B) from the sprocket shaft. 5. Fasten a hoist to the sprocket shaft (3). Remove nut (1) from the end of the sprocket shaft. Slide the sprocket shaft out of the steering clutch case. Weight of the sprocket shaft is 100 lb. (45.4 kg).Install Sprocket Shaft
1. Fasten a hoist to the sprocket shaft (1). Put the sprocket shaft in the steering clutch case as far as possible by hand and remove the hoist.2. Install the nut on the end of the sprocket shaft. Do not tighten the nut. 3. Put tooling (A) on the sprocket shaft. Install the sprocket shaft with a force of 20 to 30 tons (18.14 to 27.22 M.tons).4. Tighten the nut on the end of the sprocket shaft with tool (B). The nut must be tightened with the pressure still on the sprocket shaft.5. Release the pressure on the sprocket shaft. Remove tooling (A). 6. Measure the distance from the inside face of the holder assembly to the separation line between the steering clutch case and the final drive case. Distance (C) must be 12.938 .062 in. (328.63 1.57 mm).7. Fasten nut (4) in position as follows: a) Make a .368 in. (9.34 mm) hole in one of the grooves in nut (4). Drill the hole through the nut and .75 in. (19.1 mm) deep in the sprocket shaft.b) Install pin (3).c) Install ring (2).end by: a) install final drive gears, idler pinions and bearings
