Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the cover for the fuel injectors. Refer to this Disassembly and Assembly , "Fuel Injector Cover - Remove and Install".
Remove the fuel injection lines. Refer to this Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Injection Lines - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

(5) Grooves for a Naturally Aspirated Engine Note: There are two types of injector that may be installed on the C3.3 engine, 3NA injectors (1) for naturally aspirated engines and 3T injectors (2) for turbocharged engines. The two types of injector can be identified by the spaces between the grooves (3) and (5) on the nozzles of the fuel injector body. Ensure that the correct type of injector is installed on the engine.Note: All C3.3engines have captive seat washers (4) on the injectors. If the same injectors are reused, then install new seat washers.
Disconnect the tube assemblies from the fuel filter base for the fuel inlet and the fuel outlet.

Remove the fuel hose (2) from the fuel injector (1).
Remove the setscrew (3). Remove the clamp (4) from the fuel injector (1).
Remove the fuel injector (1) from the cylinder head. Remove the O-ring seal (5) from the fuel injector (1) and discard the O-ring.
Remove the seat washer (6) from the cylinder head and discard the seat washer. Note: If the original seat washer is not removed, the projection of the fuel injector will be incorrect when a new seat washer is installed.
