Information:
1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system to a level below the water temperature regulators.2. Remove bolts (4) that hold the tube assembly to the water temperature regulator housing.3. Loosen clamps (1). Slide hose (2) and tube assembly (3) toward the top of the radiator tube assembly. 4. Remove bolts (5). Remove elbow (6) and tube assembly (7) from the water temperature regulator housing as a unit. 5. Remove bolts (9). Remove water temperature regulator housing (8) and gasket. 6. Remove water temperature regulator (10) from the housing. 7. Remove lip seal (11).Install Water Temperature Regulators And Housings
1. Use tooling (A) to install the lip seal in the housing. Install the seal with the lip toward the bottom of the housing. Put a small amount of SAE 30W oil on the lip of the seal. 2. Install water temperature regulator (1) in the housing. 3. Install a new gasket on the housing. Install water temperature regulator housing (2) and regulator on the engine.4. Check the O-ring seals on the tube assembly for wear or damage. If necessary, make a replacement. 5. Install tube assembly (4) and elbow (3) on the water temperature regulator housing as a unit. 6. Put hose (6) and tube assembly (7) in position on the water temperature regulator housing. Install the bolts that hold the tube assembly. Tighten clamps (5).7. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE.
