The function of the idle timer control unit is to provide a timed period of idle (3 minutes) before engine shutdown when the engine start switch is turned to the OFF position.Note: The idle timer will activate whenever the engine start switch is turned from the ON position to the OFF position.
Idle Timer On Indicator (1) - Indicates that the idle timer has been activated. When the engine start switch is turned to the OFF position, the indicator will flash and the engine will stop after 3 minutes.
Engine Shutdown Switch (2) - This switch allows the engine to be stopped immediately. Push down on the engine shutdown switch in order to stop the engine. To override the idle timer and stop the engine, turn the engine start switch to the OFF position and push the engine shutdown switch down.Note: If the idle timer has been activated without starting the engine, the idle timer can be deactivated by pushing down engine shutdown switch (2). Indicator (1) should stop flashing.
Never turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position with the idle timer activated (engine running). Electrical system damage could result.
Note: Certain machines may be equipped with a fire suppression control (engine shutdown) in addition to the idle time control. For more information on the operation of the fire suppression control, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fire Suppression System (Foam)" for the machine that is being serviced.
