Information:
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects high intake manifold air pressure.System Response:A warning will appear on the display on the control panel.The code is logged.Possible Performance Effect:E1044-1A warning will appear on the display on the control panel.E1044-2The engine power is derated 20 percent.Troubleshooting:This event code will detect an intake manifold pressure that is above the trip point that is defined in the ECM software.Test Step 1.
Check for active diagnostic codes or logged diagnostic codes on the electronic service tool. Troubleshoot any codes before continuing with this procedure.
Check the air filter for damage. If necessary, replace damaged air filters. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
Check the air inlet and exhaust system for restrictions and/or leaks. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting.
Check for correct operation of the wastegate. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting. If the wastegate actuator on a C6.6 engine is faulty, replace the wastegate actuator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly. If the wastegate actuator on a C4.4 engine is faulty, replace the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly.
Verify that the FLS is correct. Results:
