Transmission
Change the Oil
1. Open the center access covers. 2. Remove the drain plug (1) and allow the oil to drain.3. Clean and install the drain plug.4. Remove level check/fill plug (2).5. Fill the transmission through the level check/fill plug opening until the oil level is to the bottom of the opening. See "Refill Capacities."6. Clean and install the level check/fill plug.7. Clean the transmission breather. See the next topic.8. Close the access covers.Clean the Breather
1. Remove the breather.2. Clean the breather in clean nonflammable solvent.3. Allow the breather to dry, or use pressure air to dry.4. Install the breather.Hydraulic System
Change the Oil
1. Open the hydraulic oil tank access cover. 2. Remove the fill cap. 3. Open the access door on the right side of the machine. 4. Remove the drain plug and allow the oil to drain. This machine has a remote drain plug. It is the line with a 45° fitting at the drain end. The engine crankcase drain line has a straight fitting at the drain end.5. Clean the drain plug. Inspect the plug seal and replace it if it is damaged or worn.6. Install the drain plug. 7. Remove the tank cover and discard the gasket.8. Remove the strainer from the tank and wash it in clean nonflammable solvent.9. Install the clean strainer in the tank.10. Clean the tank cover and replace it immediately, using a new gasket.11. Inspect the inside of the hydraulic tank for contamination. If excessive contamination is found, the tank should be removed from the machine and cleaned.12. Change all other hydraulic filters. See "Change the Conveyor Drive and Ground Drive Filters," "Change the Auxiliary Pressure Filter Element," and "Change the Return Filter Element" in this section.Change the Conveyor Drive and Ground Drive Filters
1. Open the access door on the right side of the machine. 1. Remove and discard the conveyor drive (1) and ground drive filters (2).2. Clean the filter mounting bases. Make sure all of the old seals are removed.3. Apply a thin coat of clean hydraulic oil to the seals of the new filters.4. Install the new filters by hand. When the seals contacts the filter base, tighten the filter 3/4 turn more. Do not overtighten.Change the Return Filter Element
1. Open the left engine access cover. 2. Remove and discard the filter element.3. Clean the filter mounting base. Make sure all of the old seal is removed.4.
