Removal Procedure
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.

Remove step (1), sheet assembly (2), sheet assembly (3), and sheet assembly (4).
Illustration 2 g02306759Note: Open the hoods to the FULLY OPEN position.
Disconnect support assembly (5). Use suitable cribbing to support assembly (5).
Remove support assembly (6) and support assembly (7).
Illustration 3 g02306760Note: Keep a minimum diameter bend of 102 mm (4.0 inch) for harness assemblies (11).
Remove sheet assembly (8) and sheet assembly (10). Reposition sheet assembly (9).

Disconnect hose assemblies (12), (17), and (18).
Remove bolts (19) and (13).
Remove bolts (15), tube (14), and engine oil filter base (oil cooler) (16).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove plugs (20) and the O-ring seals.
Remove plug (24), O-ring seal (23), spring assembly (22), and valve (21).
Remove plug (28), O-ring seal (27), spring (26), and plunger (25).

Remove bolt (31), spring seat (33), spring (30), retainer (32), and spacer (29). Installation Procedure
Install engine oil filter base (oil cooler) (16) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten plug (28) to a torque of 100 15 N m (74 11 lb ft).
Tighten plug (24) to a torque of 100 15 N m (74 11 lb ft).
