Service brakes disengaged. The parking brake disengaged and the brake system charged. (1) Main control valve (1f) Relief valve (1k) Diverter valve (1l) Relief valve (1s) Shuttle valve (1t) Check valve (1u) Orifice (1v) Screen (1cc) Shuttle valve (1gg) Shuttle valve (2) Pressure switch (parking brake) (3) Parking Brake (4) Accumulator (parking brake) (5) Pressure switch (brake) (6) Accumulator (front service brakes) (7) Accumulator (service brakes for the trailer) (8) Service brakes for the center axle (9) Service brakes for the rear axle (10) Piston Pump (11) Service brake control valve (12) Filter (return oil) (13) Manifold (14) Pressure switch (stop light) (15) Pressure switch (transmission signal) (16) Service brakes for the front axleThe service brake system is composed of the following main components:
Main Control Valve (1)
Accumulator (6)
Accumulator (7)
Service brakes (center axle) (8)
Service brakes (rear Axle) (9)
Piston pump (10)
Service brake control valve (11)
Service brakes (front axle) (16) Piston pump (10) draws oil from the hydraulic tank in order to supply the brake system.During the charging process, oil flow from piston pump (10) enters main control valve (1) at the P1 port. Oil flows through the main control valve, through screen (1v), orifice (1u) and check valve (1t) to shuttle valve (1s). At shuttle valve (1s), the flow is divided. The oil flows out of the main control valve at the FB port and the RB port.Oil from the FB port flows to service brake control valve (11) and accumulator (6). The oil flow is blocked at the service brake control valve. This is the oil supply for service brakes (16) for the front axle.Oil from the RB port flows to service brake control valve (11) and accumulator (7). The oil flow is blocked at the service brake control valve. This is the oil supply for service brakes (8) for the center axle and service brakes (9) for the rear axle (if equipped). During the charging process at the same time, the valve spool within diverter valve (1k) is moved by an internal spring. Oil flow from piston pump (10) is directed through the valve spool and into the load sensing line. Oil in the load sensing line flows through shuttle valve (1cc) and shuttle valve (1gg) and out of the LS1 port to piston pump (10). The load sensing pressure to the piston pump causes the output of the piston pump to increase in order to match the requirements of the braking system. When the requirement of the brake system is reached oil pressure acts on the end of the valve spool within diverter valve (1k). This moves the valve spool against
