Use a suitable lifting device in order to position planetary carrier (1) into a suitable press. The weight of planetary carrier (1) is approximately 272 kg (600 lb).
Remove shaft (5) from planetary carrier (1) .Note: Support planetary carrier (1) in the locations that are indicated prior to the removal of shaft (5) . Failure to properly support planetary carrier (1) can result in damage to carrier assembly (1) .
Remove gear (6) .

Remove bearing cone (7) . Remove bearing cup (8) . Repeat this procedure for bearing cone (7) and bearing cup (8) on the opposite side of gear (6) .Note: The bearing cone and the bearing cup are a matched set. Do not mix the parts during the disassembly procedure.Note: Do not use a torch to remove bearing cups (8) .
Remove retaining ring (9) .
Repeat Steps 1 through 7 for three remaining planetary gears (6) .

Remove bolts (10) . Remove plate (11) .

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to position planetary carrier (13) onto a suitable press. The weight of planetary carrier (13) is approximately 862 kg (1900 lb).

Remove shaft (14) from planetary carrier (13) .Note: Support planetary carrier (13) in the locations that are indicated prior to the removal of shaft (14) . Failure to properly support planetary carrier (13) can result in damage to planetary carrier (13) .

Slide gear (15) and bearing (16) toward the center of planetary carrier (13) in order to install Tooling (B) .Note: Do not allow the bearings to fall from the gear.

Slide gear (15) and bearing (16) to the center of carrier assembly (13) . Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to lift carrier assembly (13) from gear (15) and bearing (16) . The weight of carrier assembly (13) is approximately 862 kg (1900 lb).

Remove Tooling (B) from gear (15) and bearing (16) .Note: The rollers and the race of bearing (16) are matched sets. Do not mix the parts during the disassembly procedure.

Position gear (15) and bearing (16) onto the side of gear (15) . The weight of gear (15) and bearing (16) is approximately 100 kg (220 lb). Slide bearing (16) halfway out of gear (15) and install Tooling (B) . Remove bearing (16) . Repeat this procedure for bearing (16) that is on the opposite side of gear (15) .
Repeat Step 9 through Step 16 for the remaining gears (15) and bearings (16) .
