There may be several specific messages on the engine. The exact location of the messages and the description of the messages are reviewed in this section. Please become familiar with all messages.Ensure that all of the messages are legible. Clean the messages or replace the messages if the words cannot be read or if the pictures are not visible. When the messages are cleaned, use a cloth, water, and soap. Do not use solvent, gasoline, or other harsh chemicals to clean the messages. Solvents, gasoline, or harsh chemicals could loosen the adhesive that secures the messages. The messages that are loosened could drop off of the engine.Replace any damaged messages or missing messages. If a message is attached to a part of the package that is replaced, install a new message on the replacement part. Any Caterpillar dealer can provide new messages.(1) Removal of the Prechamber AssemblyThe notices for the removal of the prechamber assemblies are located on each valve cover.
Illustration 3 g00902999 Before the prechamber assembly is removed, drain the coolant and remove the spark plugs in order to prevent damage. Tighten the nuts that are located on the wire assembly for the combustion sensor to 9.5 .5 N m (85 5 lb in). Do not overtighten the nuts.
