Illustration 3 g00626430
Install seal (18) in bushing (16). Be sure that the flat or the smooth side of the seal faces the bushing. Install seal (17) in the bushing. Smooth the seal in place with your finger. Do not reuse a seal that falls freely into the pocket in the bushing.

Install pin (13) that holds control spool (11) and sleeve (12) together. Pin (13) should be flush on each side of sleeve (12) after installation.

The Steering Control Valve must be timed. This requires the correct relationship between pin (13), gerotor (7) and gerotor housing (4). One end of pin (13) will point to the largest clearance between the gerotor and the gerotor housing. The opposite end of pin (13) will point to the least clearance between the gerotor and the gerotor housing. Pin (13) cannot be seen after drive (6) is installed. Therefore, it will be necessary to make a mark on the gear end of drive (6) for proper alignment.
Install rotor (7) in gerotor housing (4). Put the gerotor in position on the spacer plate. There should be a parallel relationship of the components. Align all bolt holes. Be sure not to disengage the gerotor from the drive.
