PROBLEM
The fan kit may contain a shipping plug that will not allow the fan kit to vent properly on certain 538, 558, and 568 Forestry Excavators. If the plug is not removed from the fan kit, the reversing fan may not function properly.

Note: Ensure that all safety information, warnings, and instructions are read and understood before any operation or any maintenance procedures are performed. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual "Safety Section".
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary.
1. Remove the fan guard. Refer to Image1.
2. Remove four 0S-1588 Bolts in order to remove the fan kit from the fan drive hub. This will allow you to gain access to the 363-9875 Plate. Refer to Image2.
3. Remove the center plug from the 363-9875 Plate. Refer to Image3 and 4.
4. Reinstall the fan kit to the fan drive hub.
5. Reinstall the fan guard.
Note: There is no need to remove the hose and harness from the 434-3999 Rotary Union Kit on the front of the fan. The fan can be tilted forward in order to access the plug on the back plate.
