Service LadderThe knuckleboom loader is equipped with a service ladder. The service ladder provides access to the engine compartment. You should use the service ladder when you perform any service to the engine compartment.

The service ladder is stored under the lower frame on the right side of the machine.

The service ladder is held in place by two brackets and by a lock. Your ignition key will unlock the lock for the service ladder. To remove the service ladder, unlock the lock while you hold the service ladder. Tilt down the ladder and pull the ladder away from the brackets. Carry the service ladder to the rear of the machine.Note: Before you install the service ladder you should make sure that the machine is not being raised by the stabilizers. Lower the machine to the ground in order to perform all service. The service ladder should be securely hooked to the machine. Before you climb the ladder, the service ladder should be touching the ground.

Insert the hooks of the service ladder into any pair of slots at the engine compartment.Face the machine whenever you get on the service ladder. Maintain a three-point contact with the steps and with handholds.Note: Three-point contact can be two feet and one hand. Three-point contact can also be one foot and two hand.Remove the service ladder when service for the machine is complete. Place the service ladder in the storage position when the service ladder is not being used.
