1. Open hood. 2. Use tool (A) to remove oil filter (2) from oil filter base (1). 3. Disconnect tube (3).4. Remove two bolts (8) (not shown) from tube assembly (6).5. Remove four bolts (4).6. Remove two bolts (7), clip, and bolts (8) (not shown). Remove oil filter base (1) and tube assemblies (5) and (6) as a unit. 7. Check gaskets (9) and (10) for wear or damage. Replace as necessary. The following steps are for the installation of the oil filter base.8. Position oil filter base (1) on the engine oil cooler.9. Install four bolts (4).10. Position tube assemblies (5) and (6) with gaskets on the cylinder block.11. Install bolts (7), clip, and bolts (8) (not shown).12. Connect tube (3).13. Install oil filter (2).Disassemble & Assemble Oil Filter Base
Start By:a. remove oil filter baseb. remove tube assemblies from base 1. Remove bolts (1), cover assembly (2) and gasket from base (5). Check gasket for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.2. Remove plug (6) from cover assembly (2) to check rings, ball, spring and retainer. Replace if necessary.3. Remove springs (3) and plungers (4) from base.4. For installation, clean all the parts and put clean engine oil on them.5. Install plungers (4) and springs (3) into base (5).6. Position cover assembly (2) to base (5).7.
