Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease on the outside machined surface of flange (11). Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease in the bore of flange (11). Install flange (11) in the bucket.

Temporarily install the O-ring seals (Not Shown) on each flange of the bucket at the pin bore for the stick. Start the engine, and lower the stick into the bucket until the pin bores are in alignment with each other. Stop the engine.

Make sure that the threaded puller hole in the end of bucket pin (10) is clean. Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease on bucket pin (10). Install Tooling (A) in the end of bucket pin (10). Use a lifting sling and a hoist to position bucket pin (10) and install the pin with a hammer. Remove Tooling (A). The weight of bucket pin (10) is approximately 107 kg (235 lb).

Install plate (13) with shims (12). Install bolts (12) and tighten the bolts evenly.
Move the bucket to one side until the bucket contacts the stick. Measure the clearance between the bucket and the stick at flange (11). Record this dimension. Add or remove shims (12) between plate (13) and flange (11) until Clearance (X) between the stick and the bucket is between 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) to 1.0 mm (0.04 inch) .
If shims were added or removed, reinstall plate (13). Install bolts (14). Tighten bolts (14) evenly. Note: There are two different thicknesses of shims. Only use a minimum of three 7Y-7829 Shims.

Position plate (9) and install bolts (8).

Slide O-ring seals (7) off the pin joints between the stick and the bucket and onto the flanges on the bucket.

Slide O-ring seals (3) off the pin joints between the bucket and link assembly (4) and onto the flanges of the bucket.

Make sure that the threaded puller hole in the end of bucket pin (6) is clean. Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease to the surface of bucket pin (6). Install Tooling (B) in the end of bucket pin (6). Use a hoist and a lifting sling to position bucket pin (6) and install the bucket pin with a hammer. Remove Tooling (B) from the bucket pin. The weight of the bucket pin for the H-Family Bucket is approximately 93 kg (205 lb). The weight of the bucket pin for the J-Family Bucket is approximately 80 kg (175 lb). Note: Use Tooling (A) for the H-Family Bucket. Use Tooling (B) for the J-Family Bucket.

Position plate (2) and install bolts (1).
Slide O-ring seals (3) over the pin joints between the bucket and link assembly.
Lubricate the bucket pins. Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Boom, Stick and Bucket Linkage - Lubricate".
