Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
TRANSMISSION REMOVAL:
Drain the oil from the transmission system which will include the Torque Converter, transmission and output transfer gear. Refer to SEBU9060, Operation and Maintenance Manual, 735C and 745C Articulated Trucks, "Torque Converter, Transmission, and Transfer Gear Oil - Change".
To remove the transmission refer to: UENR4227, Disassembly and Assembly, 745C Articulated Trucks Power Train, "Transmission - Remove and Install".
TRANSMISSION INSTALLATION:
Before installation of the transmission make sure that the transmission system is clean. Refer to Contamination Control Guidelines - SEBF9204 and Cleaning Fluid-Carrying Hose and Tube Assemblies In Shop and Field Applications - SEBF8485.
After transmission installation is complete Fill the transmission with oil. The correct oil level is critical to transmission functionality and on machine test procedures.
Refer to 735C and 745C Articulated Trucks Operations and Maintenance Media Number - SEBU9060 - "Torque Converter, Transmission, and Transfer Gear Oil - Change".
ON MACHINE TEST PROCEDURES:
The new software will be provided directly; DO NOT attempt to download from SIS Web, the current Software in SIS Web is not correct for this new transmission.
Note: Flashing another software other than what will be provided will not allow the transmission to shift correctly and could result in damage that will not be covered by warranty.
Clear all logged and event codes from the transmission ECM. MUST update the transmission serial number on Trans/Chassis ECM otherwise the new software will not work correctly. Navigate to Trans/Chassis configuration screen and enter transmission serial number, make sure to use upper case for letters. Later add the new serial numbers to SIMSi.
Be sure to update both the "Chassis" and "Transmission/Chassis" and CMPD files.
Software updates require the use of Cat ET version 2018C or newer.
