(1) Cat Electronic Technician (ET) and Software CD, NETG5057 are required when using the communication adapter.Test Preparation - Transmission Clutch Pressures
Note: Make sure that the filters and the screens are clean before you test any pressures. Make sure that the oil is at operating temperature before you perform these tests.
Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location that is away from operating machines and away from personnel.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the operator sight.
Rotate the steering wheel to a NEUTRAL position.
Move the transmission control to park to engage the parking brake.
Lower or retract the implements.
Stop the engine.
Turn the key to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
Verify that the implement controls are UNLOCKED.
Move the control levers through the full range of travel several times. Moving the control levers should relieve any pressure that may be present in the implement hydraulic system.

Connect to Cat ET at the location shown in Illustration 4.Test Procedure - Transmission Clutch Pressures
Note: The transmission clutch pressures are checked by performing a Transmission Engagement Calibration. This procedure will engage each clutch to check the pressure on that clutch.Note: All tests and all adjustments must be made while the transmission oil is at normal operating temperature.
Ensure that the area is safe and all personnel are visible. Start the machine and warm the transmission oil to operating temperature.

Select the "Transmission/Chassis 745" ECM from the list of available ECM's. Refer to Illustration 5.

Select "Transmission Clutch Engagement Pressure Calibration" as shown in Illustration 6.

Once the setup conditions are met, perform the instructions in Cat ET to check the pressures on each clutch. Refer to the pressure values in Table 1 and Table 2 of the "Specifications" section for the correct clutch pressures.Note: The clutch pressures may drop to default values at the start of each calibration then progress upwards as current levels are raised during the calibration. Proceed forward until target values are reached for each.
When the calibration is complete, shutdown the machine and remove test hoses and pressure gauges.
