Remove & Install Carburetor
Fluid Spillage Containment
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide", NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates. 1. Release six clamps (1). Remove cover (2). 2. Remove air filter element (3). 3. Loosen clamp (4). 4. Remove three bolts and washers (6).5. Remove air cleaner housing (5). 6. Disconnect line (7). Cap and plug all openings immediately. 7. Remove two clamps (8). Remove elbow (9). 8. Loosen clamp (10).9. Remove carburetor (11). For installation of the carburetor, reverse the removal steps.
