(1) Cat Electronic Technician (ET) and Software CD, NETG5057 are required when using the communication adapter.Test Preparation
Move the machine to a hard level surface.
Avoid sudden steering inputs when you are parking the machine.
Apply the service brakes to stop the machine.
Move the transmission control lever to the PARK position.
Fully raise the truck body and secure the body with the body cables.
Place the hoist control in the FLOAT position.
Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position to stop the engine.
Chock the front wheels and the rear wheels. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".Test Procedure
Open Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET)
On the ET screen toolbar, click File - Select ECM, and choose Transmission ECM.

Select “Torque Converter Monitoring”.Connect the Test Equipment

(1) Pressure tap for the outlet relief valve
(2) Pressure tap for the Inlet relief valve
(3) Pressure tap for the lockup clutch solenoid

Connect tooling (A) to the appropriate test port.Testing the Torque Converter
Perform the torque converter tests that are listed in Table 1.
