Troubleshooting Chart
This diagnostic code is recorded when the Implement ECM determines that the system has never been calibrated.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The ECM has never been calibrated.
The ECM has lost all the permanent information on the setup of the machine.Test Step 1. Troubleshooting test step
Use Cat®ET to view the diagnostic code. The parameter causing the code will be displayed. Reset the configuration for the identified parameter as appropriate for the machine.Verify The Configuration Of The Implement ECMExpected Result:The Implement ECM has no blank or invalid configurationsResults:
OK - The Implement ECM has no blank or invalid configurations. Verify that the new configuration has corrected the problem before attempting to operate the machine.STOP
NOT OK - The Implement has blank or invalid configurations.Repair: Repeat this procedure.If the diagnostic code remains active or repeatedly activated and no cause can be found, flash the ECM with the latest version of software. Ensure that you have the latest version of software for your specific machine and ECM. Refer to the Troubleshooting, "ECM Software - Install" section of this manual for the correct procedure.
If the problem is still present after flashing the latest software to the ECM, contact the technical communicator for a possible consultation with Caterpillar.
STOPTest Step 2. RECALIBRATE THE SYSTEM
Recalibrate the system.Reference: See the Systems Operation, "Payload System" section in this manual.
Clear the diagnostic code from memory.Reference: See the Troubleshooting, "Using the Operator Monitor to Determine Diagnostic Codes" and the Troubleshooting, "Using Caterpillar Electronic Technician to Determine Diagnostic Codes" sections in this manual.Expected Result:The payload system functions properly.Results:
YES - The payload system functions properlySTOP
NO - The payload system does not function properly.Repair: Failure of the Implement ECM is unlikely. Perform the previous steps again. If the cause of the problem is not found, replace the ECM. See the Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace" section in this manual.STOP
