Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.
Perform the following procedure before you perform the test procedure that follows:
Park the machine on a level area that is clear from all equipment and material.
Verify that the service brake system and the parking brake system are in good working order.
Block the drive wheels in both directions.
Apply the parking brake.
Assemble 8T-0861 Pressure Gauge (A1) and 6V-3989 Fitting (A2) .

(2) Quick disconnect (3) Left track takeup valve
Install Tooling (A) to quick disconnect (2) on track takeup valve (3) .
Place the propel lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Ensure that all of the switches on the operator stations are turned to the OFF position or the NEUTRAL position.
Start the engine. Run the engine at normal idle.
The pressure reading at Tooling (A) should be 14000 170 kPa (2000 25 psi).
Stop the engine.
If the pressure is not within this limit, an adjustment needs to be made. Leave the tooling in place for the adjustment.Adjustment Procedure for Pressure Compensator Control
Illustration 7 g00945227
(1) Auxiliary pump (2) PC adjustment locknut (3) PC adjustment screw
Start the engine. Run the engine at normal idle.
As you secure adjustment screw (3) with a flat head screwdriver, loosen locknut (2) .Note: Clockwise rotation will increase the pressure. Counterclockwise rotation will decrease the pressure.
Rotate adjustment screw (3) for the pressure compensator until the desired pressure is indicated on the pressure gauge. The pressure reading should be 14000 170 kPa (2000 25 psi).
Hold adjustment screw (3) for the pressure compensator stationary. Tighten locknut (2) to a torque of 23 N m (17 lb ft).Note: If adjustment screw (3) for the pressure compensator turns in the above step, repeat Step 2 through Step 4.
Repeat the procedure until the desired pressure is set.
Stop the engine.
Remove Tooling (A) .
