ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary.
The conformance to the torque of the tightening procedure can be evaluated by a static inspection check after assembly. The static inspection check will help inspect the joint for looseness.
Begin by, parking the machine on a dry, level, solid surface that is free of any debris. Next, refer to media for "Use of Wheel Chocks" for the machine you are working on.
Drain the front wheel bearing oil low enough to allow the wheel bearing cover to be removed. Save the oil for reuse.
Remove the wheel bearing cover.
Apply a torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) to each 145-9278 Bolt. If they do not move, then proper torque was applied from factory.
If a bolt moves then the truck needs to have the front wheel properly jacked up. Please refer to media for "Jacking Locations" for the machine you are working on.
Next, remove the loose bolt. Make sure there is no damage to the bolt. Apply Loctite? 242 (blue) to the bolt threads and reinstall it. Tighten the reinstalled bolt to a torque of 520 +/- 70 Nm (384 +/-52 lb-ft). Continue this procedure for all 14 bolts then proceed to do the opposite side front wheel.
