Disconnect the harness assembly. Loosen the nut. Remove the speed sensor and the seal.Procedure for Cleaning, Inspecting, and Calibration
Check the condition of the plastic end of the sensor for wear and for contaminants. Clean the metal shavings and other debris from the face of the sensor. Use the procedure in the Troubleshooting Guide in order to calibrate the sensor.Installation Procedure
Install the seal. Install the speed sensor until the speed sensor lightly contacts a gear tooth. Loosen the speed sensor for one half of a turn. Tighten the nut (3) to a torque of 25 5 N m (18 4 lb ft). Connect the harness assembly.
