Do not attempt to straighten the ROPS structure. Do not repair the ROPS by welding reinforcement plates to the structure.If there are any cracks in the welds, in the castings, or in any metal section of the ROPS, consult your Caterpillar dealer for repairs.

Remove the base access covers from both sides of the Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS).
Inspect the ROPS for bolts that are damaged, loose, or missing. Use only original equipment parts for bolts that are damaged or missing. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 850 100 N m (627 74 lb ft).Note: Apply oil to the bolt threads before you install the bolt. Failure to apply oil can result in improper bolt torque.
Install the access covers.Consult your Cat dealer for inspection of any potential damage or repair of any damage to any operator protective structure. (Including ROPS, FOPS, TOPS, OPS, and OPG) Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS6929 , "Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair of Operator Protective Structures (OPS) and Attachment Installation Guidelines for All Earthmoving Machinery"
