Accumulated grease and oil on an engine or platform is a fire hazard. Remove this debris each time any significant quantity of oil (or other fluid) is spilled on or near an engine and working area.
A new heat shield group has been added to landfill compactors. The heat shield group will prevent debris from falling from the surface of the turbocharger. Debris that falls from the surface of the turbocharger can create a fire hazard. The kits may be ordered from the factory via the Caterpillar Price List.The new heat shield group is adaptable to the machines that are listed above. The new heat shield group is effective with 826H AWF374-UP and 836H BXD461-UP Landfill Compactors.Refer to Table 1 for the correct kit for each machine.
