777D (AGC975-UP) OFF-HIGHWAY TRUCKProblem:
777D trucks, that are equipped with the attachment 174-3445 Payload Monitoring System, will be shipped from the factory with the Rear TPMS Sensors, 175-3186, packaged in the shipping boxes. This does not affect the front struts.Solution:
A test lot of trucks were shipped from the factory with the TPMS sensors shipped loose in one of the boxes for the rear struts only (the front struts will still come with the sensors installed on the struts).This test lot of trucks were shipped to determine if the factory electrostatic painting of the chassis has an effect on the early hour failure of this sensor. When the chassis is painted at the factory, they use an electrostatic painting process which puts a charge on the chassis to attract the paint. The concern is that this charge may cause early hour failures of this sensor.Therefore, I need to know this information:1-The difficulty of installing the sensors2-Did they have problems with the sensors when the machine was commissioned3-Did they have any problems with the sensors after the truck had operated for a couple of weeks/months. If there was any problems with the sensors and they had to be removed, I need to have these sensors shipped back to me identifying the location where they were removed. Before they are shipped back, I would like to have you instruct the dealer to temporarily remove the sensor and within the schrader valve there is a valve core, back that valve core out two (2) turns, no more than two turns and then reassemble the TPMS sensor to see if that corrects the problem.
