The temperature senders are used to measure the torque converter oil temperature, the implement hydraulic oil temperature, and engine coolant temperature, as described below.Torque Converter Oil Temperature
The 4W-9972 Temperature Sender is used to measure the temperature of the oil that is exiting the torque converter. The temperature sender is used on the following machines with the Caterpillar Monitoring System: D5M, D6M, D6R and D7R. The torque converter oil temperature is displayed by the Caterpillar Monitoring System on the gauge cluster in the dash. Some failure conditions of the torque converter oil temperature sender will be diagnosed and logged by the monitoring system.
