Remove Service Meter
1. Remove two bolts (2) and clamps that hold service meter (1) to the governor drive housing. 2. Remove service meter (1) from adapter (3). Remove O-ring seal (5) from the service meter and lip type seal (4) from adapter.
Do not let races or bearing fall into the opening in the governor drive housing when the drive gear is removed.
3. Remove service meter drive gear (6), two bearing races and bearing (7) from the housing.Install Service Meter
1. Install lip type seal in adapter (1) with tooling (A) until the seal makes contact with the bottom of the counterbore in the adapter. Install the seal with the seal lip away from the service meter. Put SAE 30 oil on the seal lip.2. Install the O-ring seal on the service meter and install the adapter on the service meter.3. Install a bearing race, bearing, bearing race and service meter drive gear in the governor drive housing. The large groove on the drive gear goes down. 4. Put the groove in drive gear (3) in alignment with the shaft in service meter (2) and put the meter in position on the governor drive housing. Install the clamps and bolts that fasten the service meter to the housing.
