Separate the track.

Use Tooling (A) in order to move front idler (1) and the recoil spring partially out of the track roller frame. The weight of front idler (1) and the recoil spring is approximately 917 kg (2022 lb).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to front idler (1) and the recoil spring, as shown. Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to pull front idler (1) and the recoil spring out of the track roller frame.

Turn front idler (1) and the recoil spring around 180 degrees. Leave the suitable lifting device attached and install the front idler partially into the track frame. Leave bolts (2) exposed. The front idler and the recoil spring will be supported by the track frame.

Reposition the suitable lifting device in order to support recoil spring (3). Remove bolts (2). Separate recoil spring (3) from front idler (1). The weight of the recoil spring is approximately 509 kg (1122 lb). The front idler will be supported by the track frame.

Attach a suitable lifting device to the front idler. Remove front idler (1) from the track roller frame. The weight of front idler (1) is approximately 408 kg (900 lb). Installation Procedure
Note: Check the mating surfaces of the front idler and the recoil spring and ensure that the surfaces are clean and free of dirt and debris prior to reassembly.
Install front idler (1) and recoil spring (3) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 540 70 N m (398 52 lb ft).
