Information:

Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components. If the engine has been operating at high rpm and/or high loads, run at low idle for at least three minutes to reduce and stabilize internal engine temperature before stopping the engine.Avoiding hot engine shutdowns will maximize turbocharger shaft and bearing life.
Positions of the engine key switch are indicated by a film that surrounds the engine key switch.Your machine may be equipped with a Type 1 film or your machine may be equipped with a Type 2 film. Both the Type 1 film and the Type 2 film are shown below.

(4) START
Park the machine on level ground in preparation to stop the engine. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Stopping the Machine" for the recommended procedure.
Operate the engine for 5 minutes at low idle. This procedure allows the engine to cool gradually.
Turn the engine key switch to OFF position (2), and remove the key. The engine may continue to run because the delayed engine shutdown feature is active. Delayed Engine Shutdown (If Enabled)
Delayed engine shutdown (if enabled) allows the engine to run for a time after the engine key switch is turned to the OFF position. This feature allows the engine and other machine system components to cool gradually. When the engine key switch is moved to the OFF position after machine operation, the delayed engine shutdown may automatically activate. The key may be removed from the engine key switch during delayed engine shutdown. At any time during a delayed engine shutdown, the engine key switch may be turned to the ON position (3). The engine may be placed back into service.Note: There may be regulations that define the requirements for the operator and/or support personnel to be present when the engine is running.
Leaving the machine unattended when the engine is running may result in personal injury or death. Before leaving the machine operator station, neutralize the travel controls, lower the work tools to the ground, deactivate all work tools, place the switch for the implement lockout in the LOCKED position and ensure the Park Brake is activated.
Note: Leaving the engine unattended while running may result in property damage in the event of a malfunction.Delayed engine shutdown will run for a minimum of 30 seconds and will continue to run until the engine and system components are cooled.Immediate Engine Shutdown (Type 1)
When the operator determines that an immediate engine shutdown is necessary, and needs to disable the delayed engine shutdown feature, take the following action. Turn the engine key switch to STOP position (1) and hold the engine key switch in that position for 1 second.Note: A warning message and/or an audible alarm will be initiated if Delayed Engine Shutdown Override is used. A fault code will be logged for improper engine shutdown if exhaust temperature
