The correct filter element must be installed before the engine is operated.
The installation of the filter element is very important.
The quality of the filter element that is installed is very important.
The filter element protects the engine from excessive quantities of oil from entering the induction system. The filter element also protects the engine aftertreatment system.Note: Excessive quantities of oil that enter the induction system of the engine can rapidly increase the engine speed without control. Remove the Breather Element
Remove the gas spring on the engine hood to improve access to the crankcase breather.

If necessary, remove breather pipes on cover (6). Remove nuts (7) and remove cover (6) from housing (1).

Refer to Illustration 2 to locate the holes in the retention circlip (4). If necessary, rotate the circlip (4) to a position where the circlip (4) can be more easily removed.
Remove circlip (4) and remove the breather element (3) and discard.
Remove the O ring seal (5) from the cover. Install the Breather Element
Ensure that all the components are clean and free from damage.

Install a new O ring seal (5) onto the cover (6). Note: The breather element must have the correct orientation before installation. Diameter (A) is visibly larger than diameter (B).
Install diameter (A) of the breather element (3) onto the shaft (2). When correctly installed the part number of the breather element will be visible.
Install circlip (4) and cover (6). Install nuts (7) and tighten to 25 N m (18 lb ft). If necessary, install breather pipes to cover.
Install the guard, refer to OEM.
