! The machine may drift considerably before the track speed synchronization portion of the calibrations is performed, because new software has been installed. For this reason, it is recommended that the machine be calibrated on stands first and then re-calibrated on the ground after. The second calibration should go quickly as only minor adjustments in submode 16 should be required.

Troubleshooting:
If a problem is encountered after installation of the new system there will be a fault code that is registered on the Caterpillar Monitoring System. Below are the new fault codes associated with the new system:
For the three Pressure Sensors:
079_136_08 Right Motor Pilot Pressure Sensor Open Circuit
079_137_08 Left Motor Pilot Pressure Sensor Open Circuit
079_132_03 Override Pressure Sensor Voltage Too Hi
079_132_04 Override pressure Sensor Voltage too Low
For the Override Solenoid Valve (OVRD):
079_133_12 Override Valve Stuck to Hi Pressure
079_133_07 Override Valve Stuck to Low Pressure
079_133_05 Override Solenoid Open Circuit
079_133_03 Override Solenoid Voltage too Hi
079_133_06 Override Solenoid Current too Hi
For the four direction Solenoid Valves (RF, RR, LF,LR):
079_134_07 Right Forward or Right Reverse Solenoid Valve Stuck to Hi Pressure
079_135_07 Left Forward or Left Reverse Solenoid Valve Stuck to Hi Pressure
079_469_12 Left Forward Solenoid Valve Stuck to Low Pressure

If other fault codes exist, consult the service manual for a complete listing.
Please note that the presence of one of these new codes just after completion of the rework does not necessarily indicate that a solenoid valve is actually stuck to hi or low pressure. It is more likely that mistake was made in the harness to the ECM, or that the electrical connections to the sensors are backwards, or a problem with track speed calibrations.
Steps to troubleshoot:
In general:
Verify that the sensing elements of the new sensors (199-9702) are connected to the proper ports on the back of the manifold and that the sensors are connected to the correct harness connector (note the color of the wires on the harness connected to each sensor)
Verify that the wiring rework done to the ECM connector and platform harness connector were done correctly.
Specifically for fault codes 079_134_07 and 079_135_07:
With the engine shut off enter calibration mode 5 sub-mode 13. There is a new feature in this sub-mode to reset the track speed calibrations. Reset the calibrations by holding down the two right switches until an arrow appears and changes direction from pointing down to pointing up. When the arrow is pointing up, the calibrations (sub-modes 1-9, 15,16,17) have been reset to default values.
Now proceed to recalibrate the pedals and speed and direction lever (engine off cal?s submodes 1-9) and after re-calibrate the track speeds (submodes 15,16 and 17) following the calibration procedures in SENR8314-03.
